Description

Location, location, location! Headland Hideaway, as the name suggests, is situated on a headland, and has uninterrupted views over the Pacific Ocean and north to Kiama Lighthouse. This apartment on Marsden Headland is the most easterly property in Kiama, with only grass and rocks between it and the ocean. Its just a 100-metre walk to the Little Blowhole and a 15-minute walk along the ocean reserve to the protected Easts Beach. Kendalls Beach is a 20-minute walk or a 3-minute drive.

It features spectacular ocean views right to the horizon and the balcony is the perfect place to relax away from the madness of the city. The balcony overlooks the reserve which is on the Kiama Coast Walk (22 km between Minnamurra and Gerringong), so there are walkers going past, but thats about as busy as it gets. Children love being out on the reserve and its a great place to fly a kite, hunt for lizards, pick some flowers, walk around the rocks and admire the rich birdlife. Watch humpback whales when theyre migrating north June to August and south September to November (when they often come inshore to rest their babies). Enjoy your own private sunrise and moonrise over the ocean magical. Oh yes, dont forget the small but spectacular nearby Little Blowhole its a well-kept secret that it is much better than the big Blowhole!

This well-appointed and comfortable older-style apartment, in a small block of 3 with easy access, makes a gorgeous getaway for a couple or a small family wanting to enjoy privacy, stunning views and close proximity to beaches and walks. A portable cot and high chair are provided at no extra charge.

In order to keep the cost down, linen and towels are not provided but can be hired at time of booking for a small additional fee if required.

Headland Hideaway is out of town (3km) and makes for a leisurely walk in via the Coast Walk, past Kendalls and Surf beaches. Alternatively, its an easy 6-minute drive to find all you need in Kiama town centre with its harbour, lighthouse, other blowhole, ocean pools, several markets, boutique shopping and extensive range of cafes & restaurants. For those who prefer to eat dinner at home but dont want to cook, many of the restaurants provide a home delivery service. Or why not cook up a BBQ on the balcony and enjoy the sea breeze, sounds of the ocean and starry sky?

If you are not out enjoying the sun and sand at any of the nearby surf beaches or enjoying the fresh air and sea spray on the Coast Walk, there is a range of indoor entertainment including books, games, cards, jigsaw puzzles TV, radio, DVDs and CDs available. NBN Wi-Fi is available at no extra charge. There is a small complimentary stock of groceries that you are welcome to use.

The apartment has gas heating and ceiling fan cooling. Being a ground floor apartment with double-brick walls, located right on the ocean and protected from the south & west, it tends to be naturally cooler in the heat of summer and warmer in the cold of winter. Its a very comfortable environment!

Kiama is exceptionally well-placed for visitors and provides easy, quick access to many other interesting towns and places of interest in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven, South Coast and Southern Highlands regions. The surrounding areas include a delightful blend of dramatic coastal scenery, bold rocky escarpments and lush green hills. Great for country drives and walks. Its a truly delightful part of the world!

This property is a holiday rental, it is not a principal place of residence and there are no shared rooms. Enjoy your time in comfort and privacy.
Directions to the property and Key/Access details will be emailed to the guest at 4pm two days prior to arrival.
Extras available include a porta-cot and highchair at no cost.

This property is approved for accommodation only. No mattresses, tents, caravans or more cars than the property accommodates are allowed. The guest limits apply at all times during the booking. Any extra guests (this includes day visitors) above those that have been booked and paid for must be approved in writing prior to the stay.
Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission. This is not possible at all properties. If you or any other guest receives a warning regarding excess noise or excess guests, you may be asked to leave the property IMMEDIATELY with no refund of monies. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.
Under no circumstances are the following activities permitted at any of our properties: motorbikes, dirt bikes, quad bikes, use of firearms or air rifles, fireworks.

We had a blackout for about 3 hours on Saturday after a big storm, but thankfully you had a candle and a deck of Uno cards! Also, loved the revolving pantry, great idea! Visited the Aviation Museum at AlbionPark and were inspired by the passion the volunteers have when we did our tour. As always,our unit was perfect and has amazing views. Perfect for what we needed! We had an amazing week and we were fortunate enough to see so many whales migrating down south with their babies. Such a wonderful location, close to town and cafes. A great little Cafe and cocktail bar located on the same street as the unit. Lots to do in the local area area, we visited markets in Kiama on two occasions. Unit is clean and well maintained, lots of helpful extra such as a high chair and all the kitchen essentials which made it easy to prepare meals at home. The unit is located on the same street as the little blow hole. An easy walk to Easts beach or a couple of minutes drive to two other beaches, less than ten minutes in to town. So many lovely cafes and restaurants to choose from!
Extremely well equipped kitchen. The rooms are very spacious and gave us plenty of room to relax without getting under each others feet. Lots of open space on the headland for the kids to fly their kites and kick a ball around.
Nice and light with tasteful furnishings, very quiet and relaxing at night, comfortable beds, great base to explore Kiama and the surrounding areas.
Looking forward to our next stay!
