Description

Earlsbrae is ideal for large extended family gatherings.  With tennis court, spacious grounds, separate cottage accommodation, majestic billiards room, large entertaining areas and sleeping for 19 guests, Earlsbrae is a great holiday destination in its own right. Add to this, the proximity to Bowral’s cafes, shops, galleries, the local wineries, and the walking trails nearby, it makes a truly magnificent Highlands getaway.

The house was originally built for an English silk merchant as his summer residence in the 1870s. It has served several uses over the generations, and was for many years the residence of Sir George Fuller who was the premier of NSW on two occasions during the 1920’s. Earlsbrae has been lovingly held by the current owners since 1979 and the house has seen a recent restoration project which has brought it back to its former glory. The meticulous attention to period detail and the harmonious renovation of kitchen and bathrooms to provide up to date, luxurious and comfortable accommodation has truly been a labour of love.

In the main house there are 5 bedrooms plus a small media room and a study which double as bedrooms 6 and 7. Add the additional loft bedroom in the original weatherboard workers cottage and the sofa bed in its living room, and there is comfortable accommodation for guests with 4 bathrooms and a powder room in the house and a 5th bathroom in the cottage.

Cleaning:

There is a cleaning fee at this property of $500 per stay

Refundable Cash Bond = $2000

Extras available for hire: (subject to availability - request at time of booking)

Rollaway (inc linen) - $40 per night minimum 2 nights
Portacot (inc linen) – full stay only (max $30) - $10/night
Highchair – full stay only (max $21)                - $7/night

The damage protection fee covers the guest for accidental damage

This property is a holiday rental, it is not a principal place of residence and there are no shared rooms. Enjoy your time in comfort and privacy.
Directions to the property and Key/Access details will be emailed to the guest at 4pm two days prior to arrival.
Extras available for hire include rollaway beds, porta-cots and highchairs. Send us a message to check availability and cost.

This property is approved for accommodation only. No mattresses, tents, caravans or more cars than the property accommodates are allowed. The guest limits apply at all times during the booking. Any extra guests (this includes day visitors) above those that have been booked and paid for must be approved in writing prior to the stay.
Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission. This is not possible at all properties. If you or any other guest receives a warning regarding excess noise or excess guests, you may be asked to leave the property IMMEDIATELY with no refund of monies. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.
Under no circumstances are the following activities permitted at any of our properties: motorbikes, dirt bikes, quad bikes, use of firearms or air rifles, fireworks.
Out of peak season stays of a week or more may qualify for a discount, please send us a message.
This property is NOT pet friendly.
WiFi is not guaranteed. This is a service offered as a complimentary extra. As there is no charge for this service, we will attempt to fix issues as they arise but cannot be held accountable.
To ensure the comfort of our guests and the neighbours, we do not accept bookings for "Schoolies" breaks/under 21yrs groups and under no circumstances do we allow weddings or parties of any sort.
For your added security, this property is managed by a Licensed Real Estate Agent. We will never request payments be made to an overseas bank account and your money is held safely in our Trust Account until after your departure.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity for allowing our family to extend our stay in your beautiful home. We truley did not expect this but appreciate your gesture at this testing time. The wedding at Hopewood House was a wonderful success with the happy couple blissfully kept unaware of what unfolded on Sunday and are enjoying their honeymoon in Tasmania.
