Kalamunda Estate takes its name from the Aboriginal (Noongar) words: "Kala" meaning home and "munda" meaning forest therefore "A home in the forest". Though it is situated amongst mostly cleared small rural holdings, it is only 3kms from the Morton National Park including beautiful walks, picnic spots, waterfalls, viewing platforms and majestic lookouts over the gorge and forests. The traditional lands of the Gundangara tribes include present day Goulburn and Southern Highlands. Interestingly in 1802, the explorer Francis Barralier met the Gundangara people as his party crossed the Nattai and Wollondilly rivers and noted in his journal that the Gundangara themselves build huts for the strangers they wish to receive as friends. What's on in Bundanoon:

This is the ideal accommodation for groups attending many of the local cycle races, car rallies and collectors gatherings, not to mention Brigadoon and Highland Flings, when Bundanoon comes alive. There are also Open Garden Weekends, Piano Recitals (Piano at Ten), Crash Test Drama, Serendipity the Choir, Tough Mudder and numerous other sporting and cultural events to partake in. Bowral, Berrima and other notable Highland villages are all within 20-minute radius of this lively character filled village that is Bundanoon.

NOTES

There is a friendly horse living in a paddock at the very back of the property behind the house and the horse arena. You may see the horse's owner driving around the perimeter of the property in order to take feed to it. Guests are welcome to meet at the fence and join in the feeding process, but please do not enter the paddock at any time and do not feed the horse anything other than what its owner provides.
There is a dam in the far corner of the property behind the house and horse arena.
This property is a holiday rental, it is not a principal place of residence and there are no shared rooms. Enjoy your time in comfort and privacy.
Directions to the property and Key/Access details will be emailed to the guest at 4pm two days prior to arrival.
This property has staggered pricing for additional guests. Please declare accurate guest numbers at time of booking and update these if your numbers change before arrival.

This property is approved for accommodation only. No mattresses, tents, caravans or more cars than the property accommodates are allowed. The guest limits apply at all times during the booking. Any extra guests (this includes day visitors) above those that have been booked and paid for must be approved in writing prior to the stay.
Only the guests staying at the property are permitted to be present. If you wish to have visitors in addition to booked guests, you must advise us in writing prior to your stay and ensure you receive written permission. This is not possible at all properties. If you or any other guest receives a warning regarding excess noise or excess guests, you may be asked to leave the property IMMEDIATELY with no refund of monies. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10pm and 8am.
Under no circumstances are the following activities permitted at any of our properties: motorbikes, dirt bikes, quad bikes, use of firearms or air rifles, fireworks.
Out of peak season stays of a week or more may qualify for a discount, please send us a message.
This property is pet friendly; there is a surcharge to have your pet stay please declare at time of booking and refer to our terms and conditions regarding pets.
To ensure the comfort of our guests and the neighbours, we do not accept bookings for "Schoolies" breaks/under 21yrs groups and under no circumstances do we allow weddings or parties of any sort.
WiFi is not guaranteed. This is a service offered as a complimentary extra. As there is no charge for this servicewe, will attempt to fix issues as they arise but cannot be held accountable.
